Geneva Night Out: Scott LaFaro Day Edition – April 7, 2017

Come downtown on April 7th, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm to celebrate the life and legacy of Geneva native and jazz giant Scott LaFaro during Geneva Night Out’s annual “Scott LaFaro Day Edition.

Scott LaFaro was a legend on the jazz bass, whose fearless style and playing philosophy transformed the genre and influenced countless musicians since his untimely passing in 1961. In 2014, the City of Geneva declared April 3rd (Scott’s birthday) to be “Scott LaFaro Day,” and a downtown street was named “Scott LaFaro Drive” in his honor. For the fourth straight year, we’ll be celebrating Scotty’s life with events and exhibits all over downtown.

The monthly self-guided walking map, detailing the full lineup of artists, venues, exhibits and activities, will be available soon at participating venues and at participating venues and here on the Geneva Night Out website.

Geneva Night Out: Youth Art Edition – March 3, 2017

March is National Youth Art Month, and Geneva Night Out will be celebrating our young local artists during our “Youth Art Edition” on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm!

One of Geneva Night Out’s goals from our inception has been to create opportunities for young artists to have their work seen by the public. We have collaborated with local schools, organizations and independent youth artists over the past four years to fulfill this goal, but March is the month that we specifically celebrate the youngest creative minds in Geneva and the surrounding region.

The monthly self-guided walking map, detailing the full lineup of artists, venues, exhibits and activities, will be available soon at participating venues and at participating venues and here on the Geneva Night Out website.
